Tigers are making progress

Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney is pleased with how his team is coming along in practice as the top-ranked Tigers continue their preparations for No. 4 Oklahoma in the Orange Bowl on Dec. 31.

“We are getting there,” Swinney said. “We are not quite ready yet, but we are making progress and we are kind of right on schedule as far as our plan and executing our plan. We got some live short yardage in today so we are just trying to mix things up each and every day and expose things to them…

“… I think our plan is coming together. I think they feel good about it. We have (today), Sunday and Monday, three good days left to really get it down and take ownership of it.”

The Tigers will practice again on Sunday and Monday before Swinney dismisses them for Christmas break. The team will reconvene on Dec. 26 in Clemson for one more practice, which Swinney called the beginning of game week before heading down to South Beach on the same day.

The Clemson Insider will be in Miami as well on Dec. 26 to give you in-depth coverage of the Tigers as they make a run at their first national championship in 34 years.
