Feaster ready to chip in wherever he’s needed

Count Tavien Feaster among those impressed with the 12-game run Wayne Gallman’s put together this season.

On 243 carries, The Wayne Train has 1,332 yards and 10 touchdowns.

“He’s played tremendous this year. He was absolutely phenomenal,” Feaster said. “He’s a little nicked up right now, but he’s pushing it. He’s carrying the load. He’s doing it by himself.

“Over 1,000 yards this year, which is phenomenal…for him to step up and show what he could do for them, that was tremendous.”

When Feaster shows up next year, he’s ready to chip in wherever he’s needed.

“I definitely think I can catch the ball out of the backfield,” Feaster said. “How they spread Wayne out at one receiver, I think can catch for them as a running back, get them mismatches with a linebacker 1-on-1, and just be one of those guys that’s an explosive runner and pop one to the house early.”

What’s the message from Tony Elliott?

“He’s just telling me to come in and work hard, to prove myself. Just because I’ve got a five-star ranking, it doesn’t mean anything when I step on campus. He says it’s just straight business, classroom and on the field. He just wants me to be the best all-around man I can be, to just maintain.”

In the meantime, Feaster’s enjoying the Tigers’ run this season.

“The season is going pretty well. I think they’re doing everything they can to win,” he said. “They’re focused, being coachable and playing as a team, so everything is going well, and everything should end well for them.”
