Jamyest Williams, the 5-foot-9, 170-pound cornerback from Archer High School in Lawrenceville, Ga., joined the impressive lists of visitors in Clemson last month for Junior Day.
Earlier this week, he spoke with TheClemsonInsider about his return to Tigertown.
“It went great. It went great. Coach (Dabo) Swinney, I can tell coach Swinney really likes me,” Williams said. “I loved the love they showed. I liked that they were showed everybody the same amount of love. It was a great thing for them to do.”
A number of the other top skill prospects from the southeast were also in town, including and Malcolm Askew, Devon Hunter, Amari Rodgers, Tee Higgins, Xavier McKinney and Cyrus Fagan.
“It was good, because we got to talk about the future and seeing ourselves at the same school. Clemson is one of (the options),” Williams said.
This weekend, he’ll head to South Carolina for the Gamecocks’ junior day. He’s also scheduled to see Florida State.
“I’m still wide-open, but Clemson — I have a lot of interest in Clemson, a lot,” Williams said.
Clemson has plenty of appeal.
“Just the whole student body and how they do everything. There’s a lot of tradition there and they have no problem telling you about the tradition,” Williams said. “The student-life and education is phenomenal — like how they have tutors and things like that.”
He’s no rush to make a decision — that might not come until after his senior season.
