Tee Higgins, the top-ranked wide receiver in the class of 2017, has taken a pair of visits to Clemson.
No plans have been set for a return, but the Tigers are firmly in the mix.
The Oak Ridge, Tenn. five-star recently spoke with TheClemsonInsider about his trips to Clemson and what he thinks about the program.
Here’s what Higgins had to say:
What do you remember about the trip and how it went for you?
Higgins: “It went good. That was my first time really visiting. I mean, I came down for the Florida State game, but I didn’t get there early enough to tour the facility.”
What were some of the things that impressed you about it — from what you got to see?
Higgins: “Everything, really. I liked everything.”
Thinking back to the Florida State game, the environment, atmosphere and all that stuff, the game day feeling — what did you think of that?
Higgins: “It was crazy. They took us to the hill to watch us go down and after they run down, the fans were on the hill, too and I was trying to get back to where we sit at and it was crazy. I just love that atmosphere and how the fans love their football team.”
How about coach (Jeff) Scott and what do you think of him, with the track record that he’s had and the players he’s coached over the years?
Higgins: “Coach Scott, he’s a great coach. He’s put some players in the league and I can see that. That offense, they get their receivers the ball.
What about the offense is appealing to you? What do you like about what they do?
Higgins: “I like everything. They score in any way. They pass, they run — whatever they need to do to win, they do it. I like it.”
As a junior, Higgins had 52 catches for 941 yards and 18 touchdowns. He also returned 11 punts for 355 yards and one touchdown.
