GREENVILLE — Clemson basketball coach Brad Brownell spoke to the media following Tuesday’s, 64-57, loss to No. 4 Virginia on Tuesday at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville.
For the third straight game the Tigers (16-13, 9-8 ACC) played well enough to win, but came up short.
“For 25 minutes, we outplayed them,” Brownell said afterwards. “But it was the last eight minutes that made the difference.”
Forward Jaron Blossomgame led Clemson with 31 points on 10 of 16 shooting. He was also 7 of 9 from the foul line. Landry Nnoko added eight points, while Gabe DeVoe scored seven.
Nnoko was 4 of 6 from the field and had six rebounds.
Virginia (23-6, 12-5 ACC) got 18 points from Malcolm Brogdon, though 14 of those came in the first 15 minutes. London Perrantes scored 13 points and had four assists, while Anthony added 11 points and had 10 rebounds.
Clemson will play at Boston College at noon on Saturday.
