Syracuse game visitors

The Clemson football and basketball coaches will host another round of unofficial visitors on Saturday night for the Syracuse game.

Headlining the football guests will be a trio of 2016 prospects.

Rahshaun Smith is rated by Rivals as the No. 1 defensive end in the country, but the five-star is being recruited by Brent Venables as a linebacker. Out of Baltimore-St. Frances Academy, Smith’s first visit to Clemson was in June for the Dabo Swinney Football Camp.

Since making a great first impression at camp, Venables has developed a strong bond with Smith, who will be accompanied by his mother; and Saturday’s trip will be her first recruiting visit.

Korey Charles will have his mom with him, too. The North Florida Christian-Tallahassee athlete first saw Clemson in July when he was on campus the same day as the All In Cookout. Though Charles did not attend the event, he toured the campus and facilities. He also spent time with NFC graduate Travis Blanks.

Clemson is recruiting the Rivals four-star (No. 18 ATH) as a defensive back or wide receiver.

Making the short trip up from Elbert County, Georgia will be four-star Mecole Hardman, who picked up his Clemson offer at camp. A day later, he was back on campus with his parents. Also an athlete, the Tigers offered Hardman as a wide receiver.

Hardman’s cousin, Tyshon Dye, could be making his Clemson debut after sitting out the first season and a half of his career with an Achilles injury.

Two weeks removed from his commitment trip to Tigertown, 2016 quarterback Zerrick Cooper is expected to return. He’ll be joined by the regulars from the 2015 class: Kaleb Chalmers, Gage Cervenka, Kelly Bryant, Noah Green, Tanner Muse and Zach Giella.

Two of Giella’s teammates, 2015 defensive tackle Justin Richburg and 2015 cornerback Isaiah Brow, will also be on campus.

A duo of basketball prospects are scheduled to visit: 2016 point guard Kamar Baldwin and 2017 shooting guard Peyton Broughton.

Baldwin (Winder-Apalachee) is a four-star prospect and the No. 7 ranked 2016 prospect in Georgia, according to georgiahoops.com. Broughton is a 6-4, 175-pound sophomore at North Laurel High School in London, Kentucky.
