DURHAM, N.C. – The Clemson Insider takes a look back at Day Four of the ACC Baseball Championship at Durham Bulls Athletic Park in Durham, N.C.
No. 6 Clemson 5, No. 10 Wake Forest 4
The Demon Deacons took a 1-0 lead in the second before the Tigers were able to tie it up in the fourth. Wake Forest answered right back with a three-run fourth to claim a 4-1 lead. Clemson used the long ball in the seventh as they scored three runs on two homers to tie the contest at 4-4. The Tigers score the eventual winning run on a wild pitch in the ninth to send them to their first ACC title game since 2006.
No. 4 Florida State 5, No. 1 Miami 4
The Hurricanes would take a 1-0 lead in the second inning and double that lead to 2-0 in the fourth inning. The Seminoles answered in the bottom of the fourth to tie the game before taking a 4-2 lead with a two-run seventh inning. After Miami (FL) evened the score at 4-4 in the top of the ninth, the Seminoles picked up a walk-off win in the bottom of the ninth for a 5-4 win to send them to the title game on Sunday.
No. 3 Virginia 7, No. 2 Louisville 2
After a pitching duel for four innings, the Cavaliers broke thru in a big way with a seven-run fifth inning. The Cardinals would add single runs in the fifth and seventh, but could get no closer as the top two seeds in Pool B both finished with 1-2 records.
