Clemson senior pitcher Clate Schmidt was drafted No. 595 in the 20th round of the MLB draft by the Detroit Tigers on Saturday.

Schmidt finished 8-5 this season with a 4.83 ERA and had 68 strikeouts. He led the Tigers strong finish with a great performance at Notre Dame and in the ACC Tournament.
