2017 Clemson commitment Baylon Spector plays quarterback, wide receiver and free safety for Calhoun (Ga.) High School, but the 6-foot-2, 220-pounder will be a linebacker for the Tigers, and that’s the position group he worked out with at the Dabo Swinney Football Camp from Tuesday to Thursday.

The Clemson Insider caught up with Spector, who enjoyed his stay at the camp.

“I had a real good time,” Spector told The Clemson Insider. “Out there competing and getting to spend time with coaches and meeting players, and also learning a lot from coach (Brent Venables) and others.”

Spector said the best part of camp for him was becoming more comfortable at linebacker under the tutelage of Venables, who has said that linebacker is Spector’s natural position.

“My favorite part was just working with coach Venables at linebacker,” Spector said, “and just trying to learn more and get a better feel for linebacker.”

Spector satisfied his Clemson fix for a few days, but what excites him the most about being a Tiger full-time in the future?

“Just being a part of the family around here,” Spector said, “and getting to enjoy my time here as a player.

“I know it will be awesome.”
