Mike Jones commits to Clemson

Clemson picked up a commitment on Thursday night from 2018 linebacker / safety Mike Jones from IMG Academy.  Jones attended the Dabo Swinney High School Football Camp this week.

“I was there on Monday and Tuesday.  I have been there every year since sixth grade. I just love the whole staff. They are like family to me and my family,” Jones told TCI shortly after his commitment.

How did Mike tell the Clemson staff the good news?

“I called the coaches tonight.  They were shocked and happy for me,” said Jones.

Mike worked out with defensive coordinator Brent Venables this week at camp.

“I worked with the linebackers.  Man, Coach V is a great guy.  I really love him and the whole staff at Clemson,” said Jones.

How does it feel to get the decision behind him?

“I can finally breath now. I have felt this way for a while. It was good to get off my chest,” said Jones.

Ole Miss and Florida were the other finalist for Jones.

The 6-0, 210 pound prospect announced his commitment on Twitter:
