Smith feels ‘good’ about Clemson going All In

The Clemson Insider caught up with 4-star wide receiver OrTre Smith who just got back from The Opening where he showed he is one of the top receivers in the nation.

“It was great. I enjoyed myself,” Smith told TCI.

The Opening experience helped build Smith’s confidence and prepare him for what he will see at the next level.

“Well it showed that I could compete with anyone in the nation. Plus I’ll be seeing half of the DB’s there in Oregon in college,” he said.

As TCI reported in Monday’s Insider Report, Clemson has gone All In with the recruitment of Smith. He will be the last wide receiver taken in the 2017 class by the Tigers or they will wait to add more wide receivers in 2018. How does that make the Mount Pleasant, South Carolina standout feel?

“Good,” Smith said.

Next week Clemson holds their annual All In Cookout the same day South Carolina holds a similar event. Smith hasn’t yet decided if he will be at the All In Cookout.

“I don’t know yet,” he said.

However, Smith does plan to be back at Clemson this summer.

“I am going to Georgia this weekend and USC and Clemson some time before the summer is over,” he said.

What will be the most important factors when Smith makes his final decision?

“It will be a gut feeling, where I feel more comfortable,” he said.

There is no change in the decision timing for Smith.

“It will still be on my birthday, September 11,” he said.

Is the recruiting process getting old for him?

“No sir, I mean traveling is getting to me a little bit but that’s about it,” Smith said.
