After attending Clemson’s game against Louisville in October, Fayetteville (N.C.) Trinity Christian defensive lineman Zovon Lindsay was back on campus for the second time in as many months last Saturday when the Tigers hosted Syracuse.

Since the Louisville visit, the 2019 prospect has begun hearing from Virginia Tech on top of existing interest from Clemson and N.C. State.

Clemson is showing a considerable amount of interest, Lindsay said.

“They’re showing a lot of interest,” Lindsay said during an interview with The Clemson Insider. “I’ve been talking to coach Dan Brooks a lot.”

Lindsay said he has built a strong relationship with Brooks.

“I feel like we have a very good relationship,” Lindsay said, “and he wants to get to know me outside of football more as a person and my character. He always asks how my family is doing, and he made sure we were OK after Hurricane Matthew.”

Heading into Trinity Christian’s semifinal game on Friday, Lindsay has 50 tackles, nine tackles for loss and six sacks on the season.

“This is the best season I’ve had so far,” Lindsay said.

Virginia Tech recently paid Lindsay a visit, and he will return the favor this weekend.

“They came and talked to me Friday before our game,” Lindsay said, “and I have an unofficial visit there Saturday.”

As for the Clemson visit, Lindsay once again had a good experience.

“I enjoyed it a lot,” Lindsay said. “The halftime show, I really liked how they paid tribute to the veterans.”

Lindsay conversed with Brooks and defensive ends coach Marion Hobby while there.

“From coach Brooks, he asked about my team’s playoff game Friday,” Lindsay said, “and wished me luck for the playoffs.”

Overall, what does Lindsay like about Clemson, and what would it mean if the Tigers offered in the future?

“I like how it feels like family whenever I go there,” Lindsay said. “They’re top in education, and their players do good on and off the field. It would be a humbling experience because I know that all the hard work I put in on and off the field is paying off, and I’ve always liked Clemson.”

Following his visit to Virginia Tech this weekend, Lindsay will visit N.C. State for the Wolfpack’s game against Miami on Nov. 19.
