5-star Xavier Thomas announces huge news for Clemson

Five-star defensive end Xavier Thomas announced on Twitter on Tuesday night that he will play for either Clemson or South Carolina in the future.

“I am committing to returning to my home state of South Carolina to play for either USC or Clemson,” Thomas said in the Tweet. “I do not know which school I will be attending yet.”

Thomas, one of the nation’s top players in the 2018 class, holds over two dozen offers.

On Dec. 4, Thomas released a list of his top seven schools that included Florida, South Carolina, Clemson, Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State and Florida State in no order.

Last month, Thomas announced that he will be transferring from Wilson High School to IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., for the remainder of his high school career.

The 6-foot-3, 250-pounder last visited Clemson for the game against South Carolina on Nov. 26.
