Standout 4-star Texas TE excited to see Clemson next month

After receiving an offer from Clemson in April, elite four-star tight end Mustapha Muhammad is set to make his first visit to Clemson next month.

The Missouri City (Texas) Ridge Point standout will be on campus in January for Clemson’s Junior Day.

The Clemson Insider spoke with Muhammad, who said he is excited about the trip.

“Just seeing what Clemson has to offer,” he said, “and having a good time.”

Muhammad, one of the top prospects in the 2018 class, has over 30 offers including the one from Clemson and offers from Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Penn State, Tennessee, Texas and Texas A&M among others.

The 6-foot-5, 230-pounder said he hears a lot from the Tigers.

“They send a lot of information regarding their program to me in mail and via text,” Muhammad said. “I speak with coach (Danny) Pearman a lot, too.”

With a slew of schools vying for his services, Muhammad is staying open to interest from all parties.

“I’m still pretty neutral,” he said when asked if any schools are standing out to him.

With that said, Clemson is an intriguing option for Muhammad.

“I’m really looking forward to this visit and hope Clemson shows me and my father a good time,” Muhammad said. “I feel that off of my basic knowledge of Clemson looking from outside in on the program, I think they are in great shape.”

Muhammad told TCI in November that he likes Clemson’s environment, the new football complex that is being built and the way Clemson utilizes tight end Jordan Leggett.

Muhammad is a top-100 prospect in his class according to 247Sports, a Rivals250 prospect and an ESPN Junior 300 member.
