The Clemson Insider has confirmed with multiple sources that reserve running back Tyshon Dye is leaving the Clemson football program.

Dye was the running back TCI reported Friday morning will be transferring.

Dye, who has just one class remaining to graduate, is expected to get his degree this spring and will transfer to another FBS school in the fall. This will make Dye an attractive graduate transfer for a number of schools.

Dye’s career at Clemson was marred by injuries. He suffered a back injury during his freshman year of camp and had to redshirt as a freshman. That following winter, he tore his achilles heel just before the start of spring practice and did not play until the Wake Forest game (the ninth game of the season). He played in 10 games prior to this season, four in 2014 and six in 2015. He had 351 yards and five touchdowns in his career.

Dye had a career-high 124 yards and two touchdowns against Georgia State in 2014. He played in seven games this season and carried the ball 21 times for 109 yards and scored one touchdown. The last game he played in was against South Carolina when he rushed for 23 yards on five carries.

Dye is the second player in two days to transfer. On Thursday, offensive tackle Jake Fruhmorgen told the coaches of his plans to leave Clemson. Fruhmorgen has already left the school and will not take any spring classes.
