Clemson figures to take at least one offensive tackle among its O-line haul in the 2018 class, and the Tigers are contenders for several big names at the position in Stafford (Va.) North Stafford four-star Nana Asiedu, Tampa (Fla.) Cambridge Christian four-star Richard Gouraige and Fairfield (Ohio) five-star Jackson Carman.

Another tackle on Clemson’s radar that the Tigers continue to track hails from the Palmetto State.

Roebuck (S.C.) Dorman three-star Jordan McFadden visited Clemson for the games against Syracuse and South Carolina last season, and offensive line coach Robbie Caldwell has remained in contact.

“Me and coach Caldwell talk almost every day,” McFadden told The Clemson Insider.

What’s the word from Caldwell?

“That he really likes my film,” McFadden said, “and they are going to be watching over me throughout the spring.”

The big and athletic 6-foot-5, 280-pounder drew his first offer from Duke last September. He is now up to a dozen offers, including ones from East Carolina, Indiana, Mississippi State, North Carolina, N.C. State, Rutgers, Syracuse, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest.

A handful of those schools are recruiting him the hardest.

“Duke, Rutgers, UNC, Wake Forest, N.C. State and Virginia Tech,” he said.

McFadden has been to Wake this offseason and also attended Virginia Tech’s Junior Day last month.

Though no date is scheduled, he hopes to get back to Clemson at some point.

“I definitely want to view the new facility,” McFadden said. “I’ve seen a couple pictures. It looks extremely nice.”

McFadden said he plans to go to Duke and North Carolina soon. As a junior in 2016, he posted 20 pancakes.
