Jacob Hennessy is a freshman left-handed pitcher from Moore, S.C.. Only four games into the season, Hennessy has already gotten some time on the mound and has done well with his opportunities.
The Clemson Insider got the chance to talk with the freshman about some of his personal interests that go beyond the field and found out some things people may not know about him.
Who’s your favorite MLB player and why?
Hennessy: “I’m probably going to have to go with Justin Verlander. I just like the approached he takes on the mound. He just throws strikes and just dominates.
When you’re not playing baseball what are you doing?
Hennessy: “I like to play golf. Golf’s a fun thing I play with my roommates. So that’s a hobby I like to do.”
Do you have any hidden talents most people wouldn’t know about?
Hennessy: “Actually I play the piano.”
What is your favorite movie?
Hennessy: “The Miracle on Ice, the hockey movie. We actually watched it Thursday night as a team.”
What has been your best memory at Clemson so far?
Hennessy: “So far probably the Omaha Challenge this fall. All the pitchers were on a team and we ended up beating the position players.”
What is the one food you can’t live without?
Hennessy: “I’m a big French fry fan.”
Your pre-game playlist- what’s that like?
Hennessy: “It’d probably be I’d day 60% country and 40% rap. I’m not sure about any specific songs.
How would your friends describe you?
Hennessy: “I feel like I work hard. I feel like I can kind of just joke around. I feel like I’m pretty easy going.”
What is something people would be surprised to know about you?
Hennessy: “Well I have a ton of nieces and nephews. Which is kind of unusual. I have a brother who is 34 and a sister who’s 32 and they’re both married and got a bunch of kids.”
