After attending Clemson’s romp of rival South Carolina in November, 2019 outside linebacker King Mwikuta returned to Clemson earlier this month.

The LaGrange (Ga.) Troup County product visited for Clemson’s junior day on March 4 with the “True 19” group of talented prospects from the Peach State.

“I liked everything,” Mwikuta told The Clemson Insider at The Opening Atlanta Regional at Buford High School on Sunday. “It wasn’t even just football. From the slide, food, feel, indoor facility — it was everything. I loved it all.”

Mwikuta (6-4, 205) said seeing Clemson’s new football complex was one of the highlights of his experience.

“I loved that weight room,” he said.

Being around Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney was another.

“Coach Swinney, how cool and laid back he is,” he said. “He’s cool, man. I love him to death.”

Mwikuta owns offers from Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Louisville and Wake Forest.

He said Clemson has shown a lot of “love” recently.

“They send me stuff like every week,” Mwikuta said. “I get something in the mail like two and three times a week.”

Mwikuta listed Clemson among the schools he is high on, early on his recruiting process.

“I have Bama number one — they’re with Miami up there too — Georgia, Auburn, Clemson and then I said South Carolina, but I’m thinking Florida State,” he said.

“I don’t have anything bad to say about them right now,” he added in regards to Clemson. “Not even just because they won the championship, it was just everything.”

Mwikuta tentatively plans to release a list of his top schools after his junior season and then commit sometime next spring. He expects to enroll early in his school of choice.

What will be the biggest things on his mind when it comes time to make a decision?

“First I look at their doctoral school, how their radiology school is, graduation rate,” Mwikuta said. “Second football and third is culture, how good of a culture they have.”

Mwikuta said his next visit is to Auburn on Saturday.
