Clemson hosted one of the best and fastest-rising offensive line prospects in the Midwest, Minneapolis (Minn.) Edina Senior 2019 tackle Quinn Carroll, for an unofficial visit last Friday.
Carroll, who carries nearly two dozen offers as a sophomore after collecting 17 this calendar year, told The Clemson Insider he was blown away by his experience on the Clemson visit.
“I had a blast,” he said. “I was blown away.”
The highlight, he said, was meeting with Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney.
“We just talked about how they handle the recruiting process and how faithful the program is,” Carroll said. “I loved meeting with him and he is just as great if not better than what everyone makes him out to be.”
Carroll was able to get his first look at Clemson’s new football facility while on campus.
“It is massive,” he said, “and clearly one of the best in the nation.”
The 6-foot-6, 290-pounder attended Clemson’s practice later that day and said he loved seeing the way Robbie Caldwell coached his offensive line during it.
He had the opportunity to speak with Caldwell, as well.
“He likes my aggressiveness, how I can bend for my size and my athleticism,” Carroll said.
Carroll, the son of former University of Minnesota and NFL tight end Jay Caroll, has garnered offers from Penn State, Virginia Tech, Michigan, LSU, UCLA, Tennessee, Ohio State, Florida State, Georgia, Miami, Southern Cal, Auburn and Alabama among others since the new year began.
He would be thrilled to add Clemson to a distinguished and rapidly growing offer sheet.
“The fact that faith is a big part of their program is what stood out to me the most,” Carroll said of Clemson. “It would mean the world to me. They are the best in the nation right now and are a phenomenal option.”
Carroll also visited Miami, Alabama, Georgia, Virginia Tech and Notre Dame last week.
