ROCK HILL, S.C. — The Clemson Insider spoke with Clemson head basketball coach Brad Brownell on Monday at IPTAY’s Prowl & Growl meeting at the Rock Hill First Baptist Church in Rock Hill, S.C.
Brownell, who signed a new structured contract and an extension last week, talked about why the extension was important and when he will hire a new assistant coach to replace Mike Winiecki, who he had to let go earlier this month.
“We want to take our time with that,” Brownell said to TCI. “This has been a really busy month where there are some recruiting things going on the last couple of weekends of the month that are very important. So we are very busy, plus our guys are spending the last couple of weeks of the semester. We have really been working with our guys for the last three weeks and the spring has gone well so that has been good.
“When things die down a little bit and we get rid of our guys and they go home for a short summer break, we will start to look more into the staff positioning and into the next hire.”
