Class of 2019 defensive lineman Zovon Lindsay has been on Clemson’s radar for a while. The Fayetteville (N.C.) Trinity Christian product garnered considerable interest from Dan Brooks prior to his retirement after last season, and had developed a strong relationship with Clemson’s former defensive tackles coach.

Lindsay hasn’t yet met first-year defensive line coach Todd Bates, who took over for Brooks in January, but said Clemson is still showing interest in the form of mail.

He plans to compete at the Dabo Swinney Camp this summer in hopes of establishing a connection with Bates and better positioning himself for a potential offer from Clemson.

“They’ve still been sending me stuff almost every week,” Lindsay told The Clemson Insider, “but I’m going to go down there for camp this year and meet the new D-line coach and see how that goes.”

Lindsay (6-5, 250) hopes to open eyes at the camp in June.

“Just show that I’m bigger and stronger than last year,” he said. “My strengths as a player, I feel like I can play inside or outside. I’m strong enough to hold down the inside but I have enough speed to go on the outside, too.”

Lindsay owns offers from N.C. State and Wake Forest, with Clemson, Notre Dame and Virginia Tech showing interest. He also intends to camp at Duke, N.C. State, Wake Forest and Virginia Tech over the summer.

He attended the Swinney Camp last summer, as well, before returning for the Louisville and Syracuse games in the fall.

“The fans are crazy down there,” Lindsay said. “I really liked it down there. It felt like a second home when I went down there.”

The Carolina schools offered Lindsay as a defensive end, though his frame is still filling out and he could play inside at the next level.

As a sophomore, he had 48 tackles and five sacks.
