Monday Morning Quarterback

By Will Vandervort.

ORLANDO, Fla. — After a month of talking, analyzing and talking some more, the Russell Athletic Bowl is finally here as 17th-ranked Clemson will take on No. 24 Oklahoma at the Citrus Bowl today at 5:30 p.m.

What this means is Dabo Swinney, Bob Stoops and Brent Venables will not have to hear questions about Brent Venables anymore, though the matchup tonight between his former team and his mentor should be quite interesting.

If you watch Oklahoma, you can see how Stoops—a defensive mastermind himself—has influenced Venables play calling. The Sooners , like Clemson, are very aggressive on defense with their front seven. The linebackers play a big role in how they attack a team, much like the Tigers do with Stephone Anthony and Tony Steward.

They have linebackers that might not be as big as Clemson’s, but they are very fast and very athletic.
