LOUISVILLE, Ky. — For the second straight week, Clemson quarterback Kelly Bryant shut up the critics. The junior threw for 316 yards on 22-of-32 passing, while totaling three touchdowns in second-ranked Clemson’s 47-21 victory over No. 14 Louisville Saturday at Papa John’s Stadium in Louisville, Ky.

Bryant also completed a 40-yard pass to Hunter Renfrow on the opening drive and then threw a 79-yard touchdown pass to Ray-Ray McCloud in the second quarter. He also ran for two scores and outshined last year’s Heisman Trophy winner, Lamar Jackson, all night.

With Bryant running the show, Clemson totaled 613 yards, including 297 on the ground.

Bryant had a career high 316 yards passing. He was 6-for-9 for 99 yards on third down after going 6-for-7 against Auburn last week. So he is 12 of his last 16 on third down against Auburn and Louisville combined.

Bryant also added 26 yards rushing and two scores for a career high 342 yards of total offense.
