4-star WR: Clemson ‘like one big family’

Marietta (Ga.) four-star Ramel Keyton is regarded as one of the top wide receivers in the 2019 class. He has an impressive offer sheet to show for it, one that includes Clemson, Georgia, Ohio State, Auburn, Miami and a host of others.

Clemson has emerged as a strong contender for Keyton since extending an offer to him in August. He visited Clemson for the Auburn and Boston College games in September and came away highly impressed by the Tigers.

“I like the way they run their program,” Keyton told TCI. “Everybody is like one big family.”

Clemson recruiting coordinator Brandon Streeter serves as Keyton’s primary recruiter. Keyton spent time with both him and co-offensive coordinator Jeff Scott during the visits.

Keyton (6-2, 180) said he is getting more comfortable with the coaches and has continued to hear from them since he was on campus.

“We’ve been keeping in contact,” he said.

Keyton cited Ohio State, Georgia, Auburn, Florida and Tennessee as other schools recruiting him the hardest right now.

He didn’t claim any leaders but said he is looking to narrow things down after his junior season.

“My favorites change from time to time but I’m going to try to focus on certain teams after the season,” he said.

Clemson will be among the schools Keyton continues to look closely at moving forward.

“Oh yeah, they’ll definitely be a part of that list,” he said.

In 10 games this season, Keyton has caught 36 passes for 807 yards, including a 78-yard reception, and nine touchdowns. As a sophomore last season, he recorded 77 receptions for 1,347 yards and seven touchdowns.

He is ranked as a top-200 prospect in his class regardless of position.
