Following Clemson’s dominating 34-10 victory over in-state rival South Carolina, The Clemson Insider gave out helmet stickers to the players who contributed with stellar individual performances.
Tee Higgins
Against The Citadel the freshman wide receiver proved his worth, making some highlight worthy catches including a play on SportsCenter’s “Top 10.” Saturday, he led the Tigers in receiving yards with three catches for 84 yards including a 24-yard reception that set up a Clemson touchdown.
Ryan Carter
Carter entered Saturday’s game with only one interception on the season against Georgia Tech, but was ready to play in the rivalry matchup. He intercepted a Jake Bentley pass in the first quarter and took it in for a 12-yard pick-six that gave Clemson a 7-0 lead it would not relinquish.
Carter finished the day with three tackles, a pass breakup and the interception in his outstanding performance. The Gamecocks finished the day with just 126 yards passing.
Kelly Bryant
The Clemson quarterback played another solid game, leading the way as he completed 22-of-34 passes for 272 yards with two touchdowns and an interception while rushing for 26 yards.
While Bryant did not have a perfect day, he made some impressive throws and commanded an impressive air-raid attack against a top-25 team.
Clelin Ferrell
Ferrell was all in the South Carolina backfield and wreaked havoc on Bentley and company. He finished the day with four tackles, two tackles for loss, a sack and a quarterback hurry.
The Tigers are going to need Ferrell’s presence of the edge of the defensive front as they move on to the ACC Championship Game against Miami next weekend.
Trayvon Mullen
For the second time in as many games, the sophomore corner intercepted an opposing quarterback. He finished the game with three tackles in addition to his interception.
Mullen also played outstanding defense, keeping Bentley at bay and giving him limited opportunities to throw the football. He will be key to Clemson’s success as the season continues with the ACC Championship against Miami next weekend.
