Knoxville (Tenn.) Catholic five-star offensive lineman Cade Mays named Clemson one of his top three schools late Thursday night via Twitter.
Georgia and Ohio State also made the short list for the nation’s No. 2 offensive tackle.
Mays (6-6, 315) had been committed to Tennessee since July 2015 before de-committing from the Volunteers in early November.
Mays made an official visit to Clemson the weekend of The Citadel game. He also unofficially visited Clemson for the Georgia Tech game in late October.
Ohio State hosted Mays for an official visit last month, as well, while Georgia is slated to get his final official in December.
Mays, the son of former Tennessee offensive lineman Kevin Mays, has been friends with Clemson commitment Mike Jones since middle school. He was high school teammates with current Clemson receiver Amari Rodgers.
Mays is ranked as a top-20 prospect in the 2018 class regardless of position. He will sign in December and enroll early at his school of choice.
