Almost a year to the date that he committed to Clemson, Tanner Muse returned to campus for his official visit.
The Shrine Bowl selection from Belmont, North Carolina spoke with TheClemsonInsider on Sunday night.
“I had a great time, just talking to the guys again, just being able to kind of just chill out and hang out instead of being on a rushed schedule like at a game, so it was a lot of fun,” Muse said.
He added, “It was just all-around, it was just better than a game and being rushed around getting to places. This time, it was just calm and everybody was hanging out and having a good time,”
Muse was hosted by redshirt freshman tight end Cannon Smith. Muse also spent time with several 2015 commitments who are already enrolled at Clemson.
“I hung out with Tucker Israel, Zach Giella and some of the other guys that are already there. We had a good time,” Muse said.
Before he left campus, Muse sat down for a 1-on-1 with Dabo Swinney.
“He was basically telling me to get ready, mentally,” Muse said. “When the playbook gets sent to me, to start memorizing so I’m not behind the guys that are already there, so I’ll be on the same page as them, be able to come in and just practice and compete.”
In the meantime, Muse is getting ready for his final season of baseball at South Point High School. Whether or not it will be his final season of baseball is to be determined. Muse won’t know that status of that until the MLB Draft in June.
“I’m not really positive on anything. It will just be on how the season goes,” he said.
