Seventeenth-ranked Clemson needed to leave Littlejohn Coliseum with a win Saturday after losing at NC State Thursday night. The Tigers did just that, knocking off No. 18 Miami 72-63 Saturday in Clemson.
Clemson (15-2, 4-1 ACC) needed someone to step up late in the game to ensure the victory. Graduate transfer Mark Donnal did exactly that as he came off of the bench to score 12 points, hitting two late three pointers to give the Tigers some cushion.
Forward Donte Grantham led the Tigers with 18 points and six rebounds. It’s now up to Grantham and the rest of the team to try to make history and be the first Clemson team to beat North Carolina (13-4, 2-2 ACC) in Chapel Hill this Tuesday at 7 p.m.
“It’s on to the next game,” Grantham said. “We are going to regroup and watch some film. Mentally we’ll get together and just get onto North Carolina.”
