Scott discusses Clemson’s quarterback competition

The competitive nature of each of the four quarterbacks competing for Clemson’s starting job has co-offensive coordinator Jeff Scott excited for what is to come this spring.

Scott noted that rising senior Kelly Bryant, rising sophomore Hunter Johnson, redshirt freshman Chase Brice and true freshman Trevor Lawrence are each extremely talented and have the capability of being an ACC starter. Since there can only be one starter on this team, the competition is fueling not only the quarterbacks, but the players around them as well.

“It’s awesome when your quarterback position is as competitive as it is,” Scott said. “It makes every position around them that much more competitive.”

With plenty more football left, Scott hopes to see each of them improve their decision making and ball placement while separating themselves from the pack.
