For the first time since his fall visit for the Louisville game, 2017 outside linebacker Justin Foster returned to Clemson.
The Shelby-Crest (NC) sophomore was in Tigertown on Monday.
“I saw the Vickery center and where they have their meetings for players, the team meeting room. We just walked around and met everybody,” Foster said, during an interview with TheClemsonInsider on Monday night.
The 6-foot-3, 205-pound prospect also watched that afternoon’s practice.
“It was pretty intense, the first little bit. They did the Oklahoma Drill to start off practice and everything,” Foster said. “I didn’t stay for the whole thing. I stayed for about 30 minutes before I left, because I went on a tour before of the campus and I met all of the coaches.”
What was their message?
“We really talked about — with all the coaches, we really just talked about academics. That’s really the main thing we talked about, how the academics were…the other things we talked about were me playing outside linebacker.”
During the stretch period, Foster spent time with defensive coordinator Brent Venables.
“He was just talking to me about the linebackers that are already there and how I would fit in and he was just talking to me about the players who are already on the team,” Foster said.
Clemson will have him back on campus Saturday when he returns for the Orange and White game. Foster will visit Tennessee later this month and he hopes to see Vanderbilt and South Carolina.
As a sophomore, Foster had 57 tackles, seven tackles for loss, two sacks and two forced fumbles.
