Brownell scoops up another transfer

By Hale McGranahan.

On Monday night, Brad Brownell added a commitment from Robert Morris transfer Marcquise Reed, who was on campus for an official visit this past weekend.

During his only season at Robert Morris, Reed averaged 15.1 points and 2.1 assists per game. He also shot 49 percent from the field and 41 percent from behind the 3-point line.

After picking Clemson over Tulsa, UMass and Southern Cal, Reed will sit out the 2015-16 season, because of NCAA transfer rules. He will have three seasons of eligibility at Clemson.

The Tigers’ 2015 signing class is now complete with Reed, former Vanderbilt point guard Shelton Mitchell, four-star point guard Ty Hudson and JUCO center Legend Robertin.

Reed was recruited to Clemson by Richie Riley.
