Former Clemson Star Carted Off with Injury Sunday

A former Clemson star in the NFL was balling out on Sunday before suffering an injury in the second half.

Mike Williams had to leave the Los Angeles Chargers’ game against the Minnesota Vikings in Minneapolis with what appeared to be a significant a knee injury.

The former Tiger wideout was helped off the field after going down late in the third quarter, clutching his left knee, and then was later carted to the locker room.

Williams was having a big game prior to the injury, catching seven passes for 121 yards and a touchdown and making a highlight-reel diving grab.

The 2017 first-round draft pick is in his seventh season with the Chargers. He entered Sunday’s game with 12 catches for 128 yards across the first two games this season.

According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, Williams rode a cart to the bus at U.S. Bank Stadium with his left leg in a brace and will have an MRI on Monday to determine the extent of the injury.
