Bad news for a former Clemson star in the NFL.
According to multiple reports, Los Angeles Chargers wideout Mike Williams has suffered a torn ACL and is out for the season.
Williams underwent an MRI today after sustaining the injury in Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Vikings in Minneapolis. He was helped off the field after going down late in the third quarter, clutching his left knee, and then was later carted to the locker room.
Williams was having a big game prior to the injury, catching seven passes for 121 yards and a touchdown and making a highlight-reel diving grab.
A 2017 first-round draft pick, Williams entered Sunday’s game with 12 catches for 128 yards across the first two games this season.
Overall in his NFL career, Williams has recorded 309 catches for 4,806 yards and 31 touchdowns.
