ESPN personality Paul Finebaum joined The Matt Barrie Show to discuss various college football storylines coming out of Week 4.
One of the topics Finebaum touched on is Dabo Swinney’s program following Clemson’s 31-24, overtime loss to Florida State last Saturday at Death Valley.
Finebaum was asked the question, “Is the best of Clemson and Dabo Swinney behind us?”
“It feels like it,” Finebaum said. “I hate to just be too melodramatic after a game that was really fantastic. It came down to a kick.”
Clemson (2-2, 0-2 ACC) of course had an opportunity to take the lead over FSU late in regulation, but the 29-yard field goal attempt sailed wide left, and the Seminoles ultimately went on to snap the Tigers’ seven-game win streak in the series with the overtime victory.
With that win, the Noles knocked the Tigers out of the College Football Playoff chase and dealt a big blow to their ACC Championship chances. But Finebaum gave some credit to Swinney for getting his team ready to play in what turned out to be a near-upset over a top-four team.
“Dabo Swinney had his team prepared,” Finebaum said. “They really had what I thought was a really good game.”
