This in-state defensive line prospect visited Clemson for the first time recently and felt plenty of love from the Tigers while on campus.
Mauldin (S.C.) High School junior DeMario Moore made an unofficial visit to Death Valley for the Sept. 23 game vs. Florida State.
“I enjoyed it,” Moore told The Clemson Insider. “Coach (Nick) Eason, he’s been trying to get me down on campus for a while. So when I finally got down there, it was love. The hospitality was great.”
Moore said he communicates with Eason “on a daily basis,” and the class of 2025 recruit was able to catch up with Clemson’s defensive tackles coach during the gameday visit.
“He was asking me about how the game went the day before I had come to Clemson, my game,” Moore said. “He was just catching up with me, saying I was a great player that he’s evaluating.”
The overall highlight of the visit for Moore, he said, was “just how the coaches showed love.”
“Like, most colleges, they key in on the top [recruits],” Moore added. “But at Clemson, they were showing everybody love, everybody that was there love.”
Along with Clemson, Moore named Miami, Auburn, Georgia and Coastal Carolina as the schools he’s feeling the most interest from at this point in his recruiting process.
How does the 6-foot-1, 265-pounder describe what he could bring to the table for a college football program as a D-lineman down the road?
“I feel like I get off the ball, use my hands very well,” he said. “I’m not the biggest, only 6-1, but I play physical, fast, and my mentality is nobody’s going to block me.”
Clemson will host Moore for the second straight home game, as he set to return for Saturday’s contest against Wake Forest, and he is keeping his fingers crossed for a future offer from the Tigers.
“That’d be like a dream come true,” he said, “because they put D-linemen in the league, and that’s a goal for me.”
“The way they coach their players and the way they love on them [stands out about the program],” he added.
