CLEMSON – The wide receiver room for Clemson was an experiment over the first six games, and now there’s a clear picture for Tyler Grisham as they move into the future.
Injuries to Cole Turner and Antonio Williams forced the Tigers to learn, and the breakout of freshman Tyler Brown was the main story. The group is very young and it’s a great advantage to have, as Clemson can likely return everyone in the room.
Development is crucial here, as there’s still some raw talents for Grisham to iron out. The good news is most of these receivers are freshman and sophomores, with plenty of time to grow.
As always, this is a position where depth is key and the aforementioned losses helped nurture that growth. Before we dig into the key recruiting classes, look at the arsenal the Tigers have built at wide receiver with mainly underclassmen.
Who could return
Beaux Collins (junior)
Adam Randall (sophomore)
Cole Turner (redshirt freshman)
Antonio Williams (sophomore)
Tyler Brown (freshman)
Noble Johnson (freshman)
Troy Stellato (redshirt sophomore)
Misun Kelley (freshman)
2024 recruiting class
Five-star Bryant Wesco (commit)
Four-star T.J. Moore (commit)
2025 recruiting class
Four-star Cortez Mills (offered)
Three-star Jordan Allen (offered)
While the depth is building for Clemson, it’s a lot that still needs to be worked out and the introduction of Wesco and Moore will shake things up. High expectations are coming for both, as the Tigers need a lot of help on the boundary.
The slot position is locked in with Williams and Brown, but the frosh coming in will add some much-need juice for quarterback Cade Klubnik. Both stand at 6-foot-2 or taller, presenting 50/50 ball threats that Clemson is without at this point at the season.
It hasn’t been perfect in 2023, but the Tigers have built a receiving core that can be elite if the 2024 class pans out.
