Former UNC Star Pays Off Clemson Bet

A former North Carolina and current NFL quarterback paid off his bet this week following the Tar Heels’ 31-20 loss to Clemson last Saturday.

Ex-UNC star Sam Howell, now in his second season with the Washington Commanders, had to sport a Clemson hoodie during his press conference on Tuesday after losing a bet.

“This is an unfortunate situation,” Howell said in the presser.

Not only did Howell’s Tar Heels get beaten by the Tigers, but the Commanders also lost to the New York Giants on Sunday.

Howell threw three interceptions in the game – and he took another loss to Clemson, if you will, when former Tiger defender Isaiah Simmons put the finishing touches on the Giants’ 31-19 victory with a 54-yard pick-six against Howell.
