Former Tiger Re-Enters Transfer Portal

A former Clemson player is back in the transfer portal.

TCI confirmed that Alabama State tight end Jaelyn Lay has re-entered the portal as a graduate transfer.

After transferring from Clemson, Lay has spent the last two seasons at Alabama State. For the Hornets this season, he recorded two catches for 19 yards in seven games after catching five passes for 56 yards across nine games in 2022.

The 6-foot-6, 260-pounder played at Clemson from 2019-21, when he had two receptions for 25 yards in 149 career snaps over 19 games.

A Georgia native, Lay was rated as one of the top five tight ends or H-Backs in the nation by ESPN and Rivals coming out of Riverdale High School.
