During Friday’s episode of ACC Network’s ACC PM show, ACCN analysts Eddie Royal and Mark Richt gave their picks for tonight’s game between No. 24 Clemson (7-4) and South Carolina (5-6) at Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia.

Both Royal, the former Virginia Tech standout and longtime NFL wide receiver, and Richt, the former Miami and Georgia head coach, believe the Tigers will beat the Gamecocks.

Here’s what they had to say:

Royal: “Clemson’s got two first-rounders on that defense, maybe even more. But Nate Wiggins and Jeremiah Trotter Jr., those are the two guys that I’m looking for them to step up. they will in this big game, and then Cade (Klubnik) will take care of the football. They’ll run it a ton. Clemson all the way.”

Richt: “I think coaches and players always downplay the revenge factor, but I think there’ll be some revenge. When you’re in the locker room, and you get beat by somebody who took something away from you that was huge, they want payback. I think Clemson beats them handily.”

As Richt alluded to, Clemson is looking to avenge last season’s 31-30 loss to South Carolina, which snapped the Tigers’ seven-game series win streak from 2014-21. It also ended Clemson’s 40-game winning streak at Death Valley and knocked the Tigers out of the College Football Playoff race.

Clemson is a 7.5-point favorite going into tonight’s game, which is set to kick off at 7:30 p.m. on SEC Network. The Tigers lead the all-time series, 72-43-4.
