The Miami Hurricanes are in a scramble under center for their bowl game following news in the transfer portal.
Starting quarterback Tyler Van Dyke announced Monday night that he’ll be entering the transfer portal. He started 10 games for Miami this season, totaling 2,703 passing yards with 19 touchdowns and 12 interceptions through the air.
Things go from bad to worse with fellow quarterback Emory Williams suffering a left arm injury against Florida State two weeks ago. The 7-5 Hurricanes must rely on sophomore quarterback Jacurri Brown.
Last season, Brown started two games and played in eight. He finished with 451 total yards with three touchdowns and three interceptions. Miami has to react quickly, and Brown is their only option at quarterback headed into bowl season.
