Napier Gets Punked on Recruiting Trip

A former Clemson coach is part of a video that has gotten plenty of attention on social media.

Florida head coach Billy Napier is seen in the following clip, where he’s evidently out on the recruiting trail at a high school.

In the video, Napier appears directly behind a student, and with both looking at the student’s camera, the student says, “Smile if LSU dropped 50 on you.”

Napier, whose Gators lost 52-35 at LSU on Nov. 11, laughed it off as he walked away.

This season was Napier’s second at Florida following his four years as Louisiana’s head coach from 2018-21. The Gators went 5-7 this season after going 6-7 in 2022.

Napier spent seven years in two different stints at Clemson (2003-04, 2006-10). During Napier’s final two seasons at Clemson, he was the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. He served as the Tigers’ recruiting coordinator from 2006-08.

Napier was the 2007-08 tight ends coach at Clemson. He began his coaching career as a graduate assistant at Clemson from 2003-04.
