Last week, Clemson paid a visit to check in on this priority class of 2025 offensive line target.
Trinity Christian Academy (Addison, Texas) four-star tackle Jaylan Beckley drew a school stop from head coach Dabo Swinney, offensive coordinator Garrett Riley and receivers coach/recruiting coordinator Tyler Grisham last Friday.
“To have Coach Swinney, Riley and Grisham take the time to visit my school meant a great deal to my family and I,” Beckley told The Clemson Insider. “It was really amazing and showed me how serious they are about me!”
Beckley, a sought-after recruit, received an offer from Clemson this past June when he was on campus and worked out at Swinney’s football camp.
What has the 6-foot-5, 305-pound junior been hearing from the Tigers’ staff of late?
“The Clemson coaches are very excited with my development and how my season went,” he said. “They’ve told me they are definitely ‘all in’ on me, and love my measurables and athleticism, but mostly the way I’m choosing to live my life for Christ and use my talents for Him. It’s been a very personal recruiting process with Clemson, and I love that about them.”
Speaking of the staff, Beckley gave his thoughts on the Tigers hiring Matt Luke to replace Thomas Austin as the offensive line coach.
“I am sad that Coach Austin isn’t on staff anymore, seeing as I’ve been spending this past year building a relationship with him,” Beckley said. “However, I am excited about the hire for Coach Matt Luke, and I’m eager to see where it takes the program from here. I look forward to meeting him in the near future and starting to build a relationship with him!”
Beckley had hoped to make it back to Clemson for a game sometime this fall and tried to make it happen, but he and his family couldn’t work out the long-distance trip during the season.
However, he is circling a potential return trip to Tiger Town next month.
“Currently I’m just talking about logistics with my family to see if we can make it work, but I am hoping to make it up to Clemson for the Elite Junior Day in January,” he said.
Beckley, who lists around 20 total scholarship offers, named some schools that have been heavily pursuing him during the recruiting process.
“I feel like the schools that have been recruiting me this past year have stayed really consistent,” he said. “Clemson is definitely one of the top schools that have been recruiting me strongly, as well as Kansas, OK State, Duke, (Texas) A&M, LSU, SMU and Baylor.”
