On Monday, NCAA.com’s Andy Katz released his new Power 36 rankings.
The Clemson men’s basketball team (9-0, 1-0 ACC) moved up one spot to No. 7 in Katz’s latest Power 36.
The Tigers went 2-0 this past week with a pair of victories over teams that were previously undefeated. Clemson beat South Carolina, 72-67, on Wednesday in Littlejohn Coliseum before defeating TCU, 74-66, on Saturday in the Hall of Fame Series Toronto.
“The Tigers are looking like the team to beat in the ACC after wins over South Carolina at home and TCU in Toronto,” Katz wrote.
The Gamecocks dropped seven spots from No. 26 to No. 33 in Katz’s new Power 36, while TCU (previously No. 31) dropped out of his updated Power 36.
Arizona, Kansas, UConn, Purdue, Baylor and Houston, in order from Nos. 1-6, are the only teams ranked ahead of the Tigers in Katz’s latest Power 36.
Clemson returns to action this Saturday to face Memphis (7-2) at the FedExForum in Memphis, Tenn. Tipoff is set for 3 p.m. Memphis is No. 29 in Katz’s Power 36.
Other ACC teams in Katz’s new Power 36 include North Carolina (No. 10), Virginia (No. 21) and Duke (No. 22).
