ESPN’s Early Ranking for Clemson’s ‘25 Recruiting Class

With college football’s early signing period for the 2024 class wrapping up, ESPN released its initial ranking of the top recruiting classes in the country for the 2025 cycle.

Clemson’s 2025 class checks in at No. 6 nationally in ESPN’s early top 10 ranking (subscription required).

The Tigers own seven commitments in their 2025 class to date, including a trio of pledges who are ranked among the nation’s top 300 prospects in the class by ESPN.

Those 2025 ESPN 300 commits are Liberty Christian Academy (Lynchburg, Va.) four-star running back Gideon Davidson (ranked No. 46 overall), South Florence (Lake City, S.C.) four-star defensive tackle Amare Adams (No. 79 overall) and Central Catholic (Lawrence, Mass.) four-star quarterback Blake Hebert (No. 127 overall).

Davidson, Adams and Hebert join Belton-Honea Path (Honea Path, S.C.) running back Marquise Henderson, Liberty Christian Academy offensive tackle Easton Ware, Savannah Christian Prep (Savannah, Ga.) tight end Logan Brooking and Freedom (Woodbridge, Va.) wide receiver Carleton Preston as Clemson’s current 2025 commits. Henderson, Ware, Brooking and Preston are rated as three-star prospects by ESPN.

Here’s what ESPN’s Craig Haubert had to say about the class:

The Tigers have checked several boxes early on with commitments at several positions. They already have two RBs in this class in Davidson and in-state prospect Marquise Henderson. Davidson is a runner with a nice blend of size, speed and power and posted monster numbers this season, rushing for 2,700 yards with 43 TDs. Blake Hebert missed most of his junior season with an injury but when healthy he is a QB with good size and a smooth, compact delivery who also moves well and can extend plays. In the trenches, DT Amare Adams is the top-ranked player in South Carolina and OT Easton Ware is used to opening running lanes for his teammate Davidson is a candidate to join him in the JR 300 in the next update.

The top five of ESPN’s early 2025 team recruiting rankings is comprised of Georgia, Alabama, Notre Dame, Oklahoma and Auburn, in that order.
