DJ Uiagalelei is back in the Atlantic Coast Conference.

The former Clemson quarterback has transferred again — of course, this time to Florida State following one season at Oregon State in 2023.

On ESPN’s College Football Live this week, analyst Sam Acho was asked what he thinks about the fit for Uiagalelei with the Seminoles.

“I think it’ll be a great fit for DJU,” Acho said. “We actually talked to (former FSU QB) Jordan Travis. Jordan Travis helped recruit him there.”

“We know that Florida State has a good running game,” added Acho, the former University of Texas and longtime NFL linebacker. “They may lean on that like they did at Oregon State to help DJU succeed.”

For Oregon State this season, Uiagalelei completed 57.1 percent of his passes for 2,638 yards and 21 touchdowns with seven interceptions. The former five-star prospect also had 219 rushing yards and six more scores on the ground.

Uiagalelei played at Clemson from 2020-22, going 22-6 as a starter. Overall in his career as a Tiger, the 6-foot-4, 252-pounder played in 36 games and completed 59.8 percent of his passes for 5,681 yards and 36 touchdowns with 17 interceptions, to go with 275 career carries for 913 yards and 15 touchdowns on the ground.

Now, after transferring to FSU, Uiagalelei is set to face off against Clemson next season. The Tigers travel to Tallahassee for a game that could be critical to see who makes next year’s ACC Championship Game.
