Drafted by the Bengals in the second round (33rd overall) of the 2020 NFL Draft, Higgins has hauled in 257 receptions for 3,684 yards and 24 touchdowns during his NFL career to date.
The Tennessee Titans have their new head coach after hiring Brian Callahan, who had been the Cincinnati Bengals’ offensive coordinator since 2019.
Could former Clemson star Tee Higgins — the NFL’s top upcoming free agent wide receiver per Pro Football Focus — join Callahan in Nashville?
Former Titans three-time Pro Bowl offensive tackle Taylor Lewan thinks so.
Lewan was a guest on the Up & Adams show with Kay Adams and predicted Higgins to land with the Titans.
“This guy (Callahan), he’s a stud, and I think with some of those guys – is it Tee Higgins who’s going to be a free agent? I think he finds his way down to Nashville, Tennessee, as well,” said Lewan, who played for the Titans from 2014-22 after they selected him in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft.
Higgins is entering his fifth NFL season in 2024 after playing the first four years of his career with the Bengals and Callahan as his offensive coordinator.
Higgins posted back-to-back 1,000-yard receiving seasons in 2021 and 2022 but saw his production drop off while dealing with injuries in 2023. The 6-foot-4, 219-pounder was limited to 12 games this season and caught 42 passes for 656 yards with five touchdowns.
If Higgins were to end up with the Titans, not only would he reunite with Callahan, but he’d also team up with another former Clemson wideout in DeAndre Hopkins, who’s coming off a 1,000-yard receiving season in 2023.
