CLEMSON – As spring practice continues for the Clemson Tigers, a few changes have been made on the defense side of the ball.
One of those includes redshirt sophomore Caden Story who has moved from defensive tackle to defensive end. Story spoke with the media and shared his thoughts with the transition on the defense:
–Defensive end is not a position that Story is unfamiliar with considering he played there in high school. After playing tackle since he has been at Clemson, he said, “It’s something that I am comfortable with…I definitely feel like the time I’ve spent at (defensive) tackle will definitely help me as I’ve transition to end.”
–With the transition, Story has had to knock off some weight in order to move quicker on the outside. Story said, “I have more explosiveness and more speed now that I’m losing weight, but overall things have been great.” He is hoping to lose a few more to maintain around 260 pounds which is the lightest he has been since coming to Clemson.
–Caden said, “I feel like it was a great move for me.” With the competitiveness between positions in each room in the defense. Story said he knows he “must keep competing” in order to get playing time. Each day in practice, he said, “we’re definitely getting better each and every day and competing.”
