Clemson at ‘Top of the Board’ for Five-Star OL

A coveted offensive line recruit was impressed by his latest visit to Clemson.

2026 five-star offensive tackle Ekene Ogboko was on campus for the spring elite day March 9 and spoke to The Clemson Insider about his visit. He was at the Dabo Swinney Camp last summer, and this visit impressed him even further.

During the trip, he connected with offensive line coach Matt Luke. Ogboko was amazed by his energy during practice, noting that Luke ran out on the field and that’s representative of his passion.

“It was great. He’s really knowledgeable…I like his personality, he has a lot of energy on and off the field and I like that about him,” Ogboko said.

Watching Luke in his element, Ogboko said he could definitely see himself in that offense. He noted that the offensive line was “whooping” that day.

Off the field, Ogboko got to experience the Tigers’ facility and also hear a lot about the Paw Journey program. He was impressed by it, and referenced the emphasis head coach Dabo Swinney put on graduation and preparing for life after football when he spoke to the recruits.

“I really like how they prepare you on and off the field, it’s amazing,” Ogboko said.

As a 2026 recruit, Ogboko is yet to be offered but he said “not many” players get the opportunity to play for Clemson and it’s something that would mean a lot to him. He said “it’s a blessing” to be in this position and be 6-foot-6.

This summer will be when the offers roll out and he talked about where the Tigers stand at this point in his recruitment. The mix of on and off-field benefits has Clemson high on the board for Ogboko.

“Clemson’s at the top of the board for me. I really liked Clemson even when I went to camp. I like Coach Luke, I like Dabo Swinney and his program and what he wants to do with it…I can definitely see Clemson as a top one of my choices,” Ogboko said.

Heading into the summer, Ogboko said he plans to get back on the Tigers’ campus soon but hasn’t set a date in stone. For now, he holds 18 Division-I offers and awaits the coveted Clemson offer.
