Clemson and offensive line coach Matt Luke are showing interest in this standout in-state offensive lineman.
Lancaster (S.C.) High School’s Kevin Peay – a 6-foot-4, 305-pound junior in the 2025 class – told The Clemson Insider this week that he has been in contact “a lot” with Luke.
“I would say their interest in me is very strong,” Peay said of Luke and the Tigers. “It’s all a process!”
Peay, who has picked up plenty of power conference offers, has been impressed by Luke and his coaching style.
“Coach Luke is an intense coach, always trying to encourage his players in any way and just have a good time while doing it,” Peay said.
Peay made a visit to Clemson early last month when the Tigers had a spring practice, and they have also played host to him for a couple of gameday visits.
“I would say that they have great people at Clemson and great coaches,” Peay said.
Peay says he doesn’t favor one side of the Clemson-South Carolina rivalry over the other, but the Palmetto State prospect would be thrilled to add an offer from the Tigers moving forward.
“It would mean a lot getting an offer from Clemson because I grew up watching them when I was younger,” he said. “I don’t have a choice between South Carolina and Clemson because they both have great programs!”
Currently, Peay’s list of around 20 total offers includes schools such as Boston College, Duke, Georgia Tech, Missouri, Pittsburgh, Purdue and Virginia Tech, to name some. He doesn’t claim any favorites at this point in his recruiting process.
“I currently don’t have any schools standing out right now,” he said.
Peay said he’s planning to visit Clemson again but has not yet set a date for that return trip to Tiger Town.
