ACC Loses Battle Today in Florida Court

Florida State got some good news Tuesday in their court battle against the Atlantic Coast Conference.

On Tuesday, the ACC and Florida State faced off in a Tallahassee courtroom, and the ACC lost that fight.

FSU’s lawsuit against the ACC will continue to move forward, as a judge in Leon County denied the ACC’s motion to stay (postpone) the case. FSU, of course, is suing the ACC in an effort to get out of the ACC’s grant of rights.

Another hearing in the FSU v ACC case is set for April 22.

From Tampa Bay Times college football reporter Matt Baker, who covered the Leon County hearing Tuesday:

After losing the courtroom battle, the ACC released the following statement on the judge denying the conference’s motion to stay FSU’s lawsuit in Leon County:

“While we respect the court’s decision, we strongly disagree with its determination surrounding our requested stay in Florida, especially following the North Carolina court’s decision. We are examining our options as it relates to next steps.”
